60 Years of Dedicated Breeding
Abraham Kruger has been breeding Simmentalers for more than 60 years. He imported his first animals from Namibia in 1965. In 1970 he imported animals from Germany twice, which had a tremendous impression on his herd. Abraham and Ron Nolan of Bar 5 Ranch in Canada had an agreement for more than 11 years, where Abraham would purchase females and get some of the very best bulls in the world. Embryos would then be flushed and exported to Canada where they would be placed in recipient cows on the Bar 5 estate and the calves would be sold internationally. The agreement came to an end and the genetics that Abraham retained are some of the best in the world, including the "queen bees" Toverberg Erika, and Bar 5 S.A. Lady Siska, who sold in Brazil for $1,000,000.
The Toverberg Simmentaler Dispersal Sale will be held on 13 March 2024 on the farm Rietfonteinpoort, where Abraham has passionately been breeding Simmentalers since 1965.
